    Using Pagers and Cell Phones

If you have a pager or cellular phone, it may be capable of receiving stock alert messages. This feature is often called SMS (Short Messaging Service) and is supported by major providers such as Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, Nextel, and many more.

Usually, the pager or cellular phone is assigned an e-mail address just like your regular e-mail address assigned by your ISP or workplace. For example, a Verizon (formerly Airtouch) pager may have the e-mail address 5559871212@MyAirMail.com. A SprintPCS phone may have the e-mail address, 5556541212@SprintPCS.com. Typically these SMS messages are limited to 100-300 characters. Our system lets you configure your pager or cellular phone destination such that the messages are broken up if they are going to reach the maximum character count.

Some providers charge extra for each message received in a month over a given threshold such as 300. In order to protect you from excessive message charges, our system allows you to configure a monthly maximum limit. Messages above the maximum limit are saved on the StockAlerts.com web site and marked that they are over the limit for that destination.

Please contact your wireless provider to find out if your pager or phone supports e-mail delivery.
